Self Improvement and Personal Growth – Removing Skepticism
Self improvement and personal growth do not go with skepticism! But skepticism may be a plague that is fueled by the reality of life today – life can be perceived to be extremely negative. Could this be why so many people accept the ordinary and are plagued with skepticism?
You watch the news before you go to bed. Good news does not make the news! It’s all bad news. You wake up and the first thing you do is flick the TV on and then you go and buy a newspaper. More bad news! Your day is full of no’s, wont’s, cant’s, and should not’s. You’ve been put down by your boss, shouted at by your partner and laughed at by the stranger on the street. You would be forgiven if you flopped down on your sofa at the end of the day and concluded that life is negative. Period. We are almost choking with bad words, bad news, bad thoughts and bad feelings.
It’s no wonder that people are skeptical when you turn everything on its head and tell them, you can achieve, you can be someone, you can be wealthy.
Unfortunately skepticism can be a very handy excuse not to do anything, to accept so called reality and to live a life of mediocrity instead of a fulfilled and successful life. Here are three things you have got to do in order to overcome skepticism and move forward.
It takes something to make something work. You have got to take action, put something on the plate, get in the ring. Historically men have stood alone for things they have believed in. Mandela and Gandhi are two great examples of people who changed the world and are loved and respected now. They once stood alone. You have to be willing to look at new things, new ideas and new ways of doing things if you want something other than what you have already got. You have to be willing to take the time to understand something different if you want more than you have already.
If you are really happy with exactly what you have got and where you are then that is fine. I have had to come to terms with the fact that there are many people who want to live a comfortable and safe life. But I still wonder if it is for real or if you allowed the negativity that surrounds you to seep into your system, allowing it to take away your self belief and the concept that man was born great.
